MANUFACTURING QUALITY ENGINEER
FULL TIME, EXEMPT

Opportunity at a glance:
In this position, you’ll be the hands-on expert to ensure the continued adherance to REDCOM quality standards. Working with various areas of the organization and leadership, this role will oversee the organization’s efforts to achieve optimal levels of quality, reliability, and consistency for all processes and products in order to provide cost-effective solutions that meet applicable regulatory requirements, as well as customer expectations.
As the Quality Engineer, you will serve as the subject matter expert on our Quality Management System, and work with leadership to refine quality standards, work instructions, inspection procedures, and test procedures to ensure continued compliance. Though your primary responsibilities for this position revolve around manufacturing quality, an ideal candidate will be able to quickly learn the REDCOM processes and be an active member of overall company quality requirements, beyond just manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for rigor and order, will have a strong attention to detail and and a background with AS9100D, ISO 13485, and/or ISO 9001 quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Quality:
    • Responsible for leading the development, implementation, and/or ongoing maintenance of a certified combined AS9100D and ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
    • Develop quality standards, work instructions, inspection procedures, and test procedures.
    • Evaluate and verify product performance against customer specifications, then establish root cause and develop/implement corrective actions for any defects or failures.
    • Implement continuous improvements across the system.
  • Manufacturing Process:
    • Partner with our Contract Compliance Specialist to ensure continued compliance, communication and support of our supplier and customer requirements.
    • Intregral to all product and process reviews to understand the design intent and offer suggestions in order to obtain the highest level of reliability inherent to the product or process.
    • Implement appropriate measures throughout the organization in order to understand undesirable trends and suggest the necessary corrective and preventative actions for compliance and improvements.
    • Coordinate with the appropriate departments on the the deployment of new processes and training of employees.
    • Monitor collected data utilizing a centralized database and communicate results on a regular basis in order to visualize performance.
    • Utilize the appropriate software in order to provide customers with an accurate understanding of products’ measures of reliability.
  • General Skills
    • Present information related to these areas to broad audiences, including senior management and external auditors
    • Performs other duties as assigned within the general scope of the these duties..
    • Collaborates routinely with other teams, including engineering, human resources, and sales operations.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Or technical degree with equivalent experience specifically in one of the following disciplines: Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience, or evidence of demonstratable experience in the application of these practices in the manufacturing process.
  • The ideal candidate will have also have experience in:
    • An ISO-regulated environment
    • Experience with SMT and through-hole PCBA’s
    • IPC standards
    • Holds current IPC 610 certification and knowledge or J-STD-001 requirements
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a government contract manufacturing environment, including working knowledge of EAR/ITAR, FARs/DFARs, and supply chain traceabiliy.
OTHER DUTIES:
Complete special projects and perform other duties as necessary.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
REDCOM offers a highly flexible hybrid working environment. This role can work hybrid including designated in-office days, which we use for collaboration sessions and cross-department meetings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily an electronics manufacturing environment. The ability to physically move around the floor into various workstations is critical.
  • Must be able to work at a computer/computer workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • The ability to grasp with manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, and ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and information.
  • The ability to hear and read information presented, as well as audibly present and write findings through the use of a keyboard or pen are critical to this role.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
No direct reports, but will be required to interact with and provide direction to manufacturing employees regularly.

The wage range for this role considers the range of qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; education and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position.
Manufacturing Quality Engineer: Hiring Range $62,500 - $68,000
