We are seeking a senior product executive with the ambition, experience, and passion to be our new Chief Product Officer and to lead Product and innovation for Slack. As the CPO, you will be the key executive responsible for formulating and executing a growth-oriented product and business strategy for our product portfolio. This leader will be responsible for a multi-billion dollar business with millions of users and tens of thousands of customers across the globe. These products areas are responsible for driving the productivity and happiness of Fortune 1000+ customers wall-to-wall in every industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and execute the Slack strategy to expand category leadership in the overall market and adjacencies; Pursue new addressable markets

  • Work closely with the teams to ensure continued customer success, ACV, revenue, and market share growth

  • Deliver key performance indicators of customer growth, adoption, retention, and expansion across the Slack product portfolio.

  • Partner with other Industry GMs, Engineering, Industry GTM, and business leaders to ensure that the products continue to support and differentiate our overall strategy.

  • Lead the continued growth of the Slack and Salesforce ecosystem with the continuing expansion of our technology in the marketplace.

  • Attract, develop and retain a diverse slate of Product Management leaders around the globe.


What you should have:

  • 15+ years of product management and product leadership experience

  • 10+ years experience within a software or technology company, preferably managing the product portfolio of the entire business or large business unit.

  • Experience managing the complexity of multiple products serving multiple industries/markets/segments and buyers

  • Passion for Slack and Salesforce, our values, and especially the role the CPO plays in our success

  • A strong sense of vision and ability to mobilize product and teams to continue innovating to drive market leadership and customer success

  • Deep understanding of our markets, how they are evolving, and how Slack can continue to lead in technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, align, and enable a large geographically dispersed team across all corporate functions in order to drive a successful business.

  • Understand and believe in the unique characteristics of our approach to developer agility and low code/no-code application development. As equally comfortable discussing platform products for a technical audience as application products for a business user audience

  • A successful track record of working effectively in a highly matrixed and fast-growing organization

  • A strong and proven commitment to diversity and equality, building inclusive teams, and inclusive & accessible products

  • Ability to build and grow an outstanding leadership team and organization

  • Portfolio-oriented product approach for balancing bold, high-upside bets with quick wins

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an enterprise technology organization

  • Proven ability to grow, develop, and retain top product management talent

  • Very strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse team members and external parties

  • Track record of driving results within a matrixed business environment

  • Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate to non-technical and technical audiences with ease

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $474,000 to $524,000.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
