Summary of Responsibilities: An Associate Medical Sales Representative is responsible for the training, sales and related support services of orthopedic, podiatric and medical devices within the territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Builds and maintains customer relationships, while able to cover orthopedic and podiatric procedures with clinical proficiency and business acumen.
Educates and informs surgeons, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel as to the proper use and maintenance of the orthopedic, podiatric and other medical devices we distribute.
Facilitates on-time delivery of products to customers.
Responsible for territory case coverage.
Ensure set and/or trays are delivered and retrieved for each surgery and the trays are properly stocked and maintained
Managing, reconciling and maintaining set instrument and implant inventory levels.
Solves product problems for customers in an expeditious fashion.
Aggressively solicit orders from present and prospective customers for the products assigned.
Strictly adheres to all laws and PSL policies regarding the interaction with Health Care Professionals, product handling and complaints, expense reporting, sales activities and training.
Keeps respective Regional Sales Manager informed of territory progress on a regular basis.
Directs product evaluations in operating room and office settings.
Plan and coordinate product training for surgeons (didactic and cadaveric).
Coordinates training for operating room staff, resident and fellows.
Build and maintain beneficial relationships with surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, technologists, key administration and purchasing personnel, to grow and develop business
Responsible for successful completion of sales training.
Complete all educational courses required by the manager.
Learn extensive product offerings and understand the appropriate anatomy and biomechanics that constitute the field of orthopedics and podiatry.
Attend local, regional, and national trade shows and labs as requested.
Other duties may be assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree Required/or High school diploma (or equivalent) with at least two (2) year of successful medical device sales experience.
Current relationships in market place preferred.
Sales device experience preferred.
Strong Sales and Communication Skills.
Strong Knowledge and/or Ability to Learn and Understand Orthopedic Concepts and human anatomy.
Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as surgeries require on an emergency basis.
Must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy.
Willing and capable of carrying weights up to 50 pounds, independently.
Ability to wear a 7-9 pounds of protective lead apron for extended periods of time in the operating room
Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to eight plus hours per day
Frequent bending/stooping, squatting and balance
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer.

Pay: $37,441.27 - $53,520.68 per year
