Job Description
The Senior Network Engineer - Network Security is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network security systems to protect the organization’s digital infrastructure. This role will involve working closely with the Global Information Security team to enhance the overall security posture of the organization, implementing new tools, and ensuring compliance with best practices in network security.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced network security solutions to protect the organization’s network infrastructure.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new security tools, technologies, and processes to enhance network security.
- Collaborate closely with the Global Information Security (InfoSec) team to align with global security strategies and policies.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify, investigate, and mitigate potential security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, protocols, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Design and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security-related network hardware/software.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of network access controls, authentication, and authorization protocols to secure access to sensitive data and resources.
- Oversee security incident response processes, including root cause analysis and remediation efforts, to mitigate future risks.
- Stay up-to-date on current network security threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements to continuously improve security posture.
- Train and mentor junior network engineers and team members on security best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on network security and associated technologies.
- Proficient in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other network security technologies.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO), and industry best practices for network security.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to improving network security.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems and network security monitoring tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment and to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
