The Account Executive is primarily responsible for growing our customer base. We are looking for someone to help us build strong, trust-based relationships with customers and share the flavors of the produce and stories of the farmers we support. This position requires a deep knowledge of produce seasonality and varieties as well as the ability to communicate well with chefs. As we grow our team, we are looking to focus more heavily on local food procurement. This position with work with our Sustainability and Local Farms Program Manager to identify potential new customers within the local food movement.
The Account Executive will:
- Meet or exceed sales goals through analysis of current sales volume to identify gaps to budget
- Develop strategy for acquisition of new accounts and penetration of existing customers
- Execute weekly call plan agenda to maximize field presence and deliver maximum impact on key results
- Consistently maintain solid customer relationships, taking corrective action as needed to mitigate churn and increase sales
- Assist in set-up of new accounts including creation of customer order guides, obtaining credit applications, setting up price rules, establishing order cut off/delivery schedules, implementing customer/vendor pricing agreements for new and/or existing accounts, coordinating with each department to meet or exceed customers' expectations
- Responsible for communicating with assigned accounts continuously regarding new products, pricing/item changes or information, holiday schedules, order cut off, delivery day changes, and new product opportunities.
- Partner with finance to review accounts receivable report weekly and assist in collecting past due balances
- Respond timely to customer inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain updated CRM customer files and profiles including contact information, delivery information, order information, etc.
- Review fill rate and daily out of stock report to ensure maximum order fulfillment to customer
- Proactively communicate cross functionally to provide vital information necessary for servicing the customer. This includes advance notification to procurement of menu changes, increased or decreased product usage, new or lost business, changes in proprietary product, etc. This also includes advance notification to Operations about new customers, construction, or any other changes that may affect customer orders or delivery.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum two years food sales experience required
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Driver License with a driving record that meets Company insurability standards
- Current automobile insurance with the following limits of liability: Bodily injury - $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident; property damage - $100,000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
Supplemental Pay:
- Commission pay
