Labourers assist in maintaining site dispensers, preparing waste for disposal and efficiently unloading and offloading trucks containing raw materials and/or finished product, while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Labourer
- Wash and disinfect the plant site, pits, pipes, countertops, roofs, drains, and other areas
- Sort garbage, plastics, recyclables, metals, paper
- Safely operate forklifts, skid-steers and other hoisting devices when necessary
- Conduct safety pre-trip inspections on the site forklifts, skid steers and submit required paperwork
- Clean the yard and all pit areas including the walls and basement areas
- Unload trucks and offloading raw material and finished product totes
- Prepare coffee, clean the employee lunchroom, kitchen, and change room
- Maintain the stock of products including paper towel dispensers, soaps, food, etc.
- Maintain applicable HACCP documentation
- Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands
- Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities as per Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
- Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
- Wash all company vehicles, trailers, and containers in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer and company standards
- Inspect and report any deficiencies regarding equipment and wash bay safety
- Ensure equipment is clean, organized and ready to service as required
- Slowly and efficiently move company vehicles, containers, and trailers throughout the site in a safe and controlled manner
- Maintain the high-pressure washing system, sump pumps, soap hoses and soap sprayer system
- Organize the washing procedures of all containers in a priority sequence
- Follow weekly washing checklists and complete daily washing sheets
Qualifications
- Possesses strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP practices
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
- Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
- Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
- Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and animal by-products
