Position Summary
An Associate SQA Engineer plays a key role within a project team comprised of Core, Senior and/or Advanced SQA engineers. Under the guidance of Lead/ Senior Engineers, this role develops and executes test plans and test cases to ensure our gaming product meets requisite functional, technical, and regulatory compliance requirements.
An ideal candidate thrives working in a collaborative team environment; is comfortable interacting with internal/ external team members with varying degrees of technical knowledge; has strong technical background with a drive to understand how things work; and isn’t afraid to ask questions or suggest improvements.
- Review and provide timely feedback on requirements and design artifacts, working alongside Senior Engineers
- Collaborate with Senior Engineers in creation and execution of test plans, test cases and test scripts to effectively test game software and related solutions across multiple platforms
- Understand SQA software test methodology, procedures, and overall product development lifecycle
- Adhere to business/ process workflows and closely follow SQA work instructions
- Write clear and concise defect logs, and assist in recreating issues
- Identify major issues and assist with escalation as necessary to ensure timely resolution
- Actively utilize tools and databases for SQA functions and testing, with minimal assistance
- Assist Lead / Senior Engineers with weekly project status report for each assigned project
- Assist Lead / Senior Engineers with detailed Completion Report at the end of each project
- Work alongside Lead / Senior Engineers to interface with cross-functional teams if necessary
Qualifications
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Senior / Lead Engineers involved with SQA Department level special projects
- Understand current process and suggest improvements as needed
- Attend Design Reviews, Code Reviews and Triage meetings per Lead Engineer request
Qualifications:
- Academic and/or working knowledge of Computer Architecture and Hardware
- Academic and/or working knowledge of Operating System and Software Application Architecture
- Academic and/or working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
- Academic and/or working knowledge of Object-oriented Programming languages
- Basic academic knowledge of real-time embedded systems and Client/ Server systems
- Proficiency with productivity Tools and Applications such as Microsoft Office 365
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
Required Experience:
- 0 - 2 years of relevant experience as an SQA, SDET, Software Engineer or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods of time
- Extensive time in front of LCD’s and Electronic Gaming Machine screens
- Repetitive motion to open heavy Electronic Gaming Machine doors
- 100% in office
