Job Description

Convera is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager, who will be responsible for the sales of hedging products and API payments solutions to NGOs, charities and nonprofits in the US and Canada. The Senior BDM will join a global team supporting NGOs and their cross-border payment needs. This is a great opportunity for a sales professional looking to bring their skills and knowledge of payment rails to the social impact and NGO space.

You will be responsible for:

  • Approaching NGO and nonprofit prospects on behalf of the company to attract new clients for our Global NGO Group.
  • Connecting with prospective organizations of all sizes from locally managed nonprofits to large, multinational NGOs.
  • Consulting with prospective clients on their currency requirements, risk profile and payment solutions whilst progressing towards securing sustainable, profitable trading relationships.
  • Performing market analysis, attending on and offline events.
  • Understanding the business needs and challenges of nonprofits and international NGOs.
  • Understanding the role compliance and sanctions play in supporting organizations to manage their cross-border payments.
  • Managing the full sales-cycle up to on-boarding the new client, before handing over responsibility to your colleagues in the client account management team.
  • Collaborating with colleagues from different departments within Convera.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 5+ years in B2B Sales in a Fintech/payments/foreign exchange environment
  • Is ambitious, self-motivated, confident with high integrity and tenacity to outperform the competition.
  • Financially astute with knowledge of business needs and able to demonstrate success in new business sales in a dynamic environment consistently achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Experienced using the principles of consultative selling and customer acquisition (including networking events, trade fairs, cold calling, etc.)
  • Adept at executive level negotiations and building long-term client relationships.
  • International Payments and/or Foreign Exchange knowledge.
  • Experience selling fintech and/or technology products to the social impact, NGO or ESG sector(s).
  • Ability to work individually, and to collaborate with others in a fast-paced, team environment, making quick decisions, and managing timelines. Previous experience working towards key performance indicators and individual targets to achieve weekly, quarterly, and annual goals.
