Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:


  • Full Time (40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (three weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The Established Opinion Leaders (EOL) Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Public Engagement Specialist. Is the leading LE Staff strategist/advisor responsible for Mission-wide Public Diplomacy (PD) engagement with Established Opinion Leaders, including influential individuals and institutions such as think tanks, syndicates, labor unions, professional associations, civil society organizations, prominent academics, elected officials, and professional training institutions. Designs and recommends Public Diplomacy strategies to connect with EOL audiences to build and sustain productive dialogue, and promote understanding of and support for U.S. policy in a complex, highly integrated bilateral relationship where host-country opinion leaders have ready, direct access to the U.S. information market and their U.S. counterparts. Plans, develops, coordinates, oversees and evaluates projects and initiatives to engage EOL subject matter experts and the audiences they reach.


Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural or multinational work environment, with project management, communications, or education duties as a significant part of the job is required.


Education Requirements:

EDUCATION : A university degree in international relations, American Studies, communications, political science, economics or related feild is required


Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Fluent Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. This may be tested.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Canada may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits. The US Mission offers competitive salary, robust benefits, professional development and celebration of American and Canadian holidays. This position is currently eligible for telework.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.


** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
