Position Overview:

We are urgently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Estimator Assistant and Sales Representative in the roofing industry. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow within the industry. The Estimator Assistant will support the estimating team in assessing project requirements, preparing proposals, and providing exceptional customer service to clients. Additionally, the Sales Representative aspect of the role involves generating leads, prospecting for new business, and promoting our roofing services to potential clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist senior estimators in conducting on-site assessments and inspections of roofs to gather information for project estimates.

2. Compile and organize project data, including measurements, materials, and labor requirements, to support accurate cost estimation.

3. Input data into estimating software or spreadsheets to generate preliminary cost estimates and project proposals.

4. Collaborate with the sales team to follow up on leads, schedule appointments, and conduct initial client meetings or site visits.

5. Participate in client meetings alongside senior estimators or sales representatives to understand client needs and preferences.

6. Provide administrative support, including preparing documents, responding to inquiries, and maintaining accurate records of project communications.

7. Assist in preparing and presenting project proposals to clients, incorporating pricing, timelines, and specifications.

8. Develop a basic understanding of roofing materials, techniques, and industry standards to effectively communicate with clients and address inquiries.

9. Actively prospect for new business opportunities through cold calling, networking events, and other lead generation methods.

10. Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the sales process, addressing questions, providing updates, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in business, construction, or related field is a plus.

2. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to accurately gather and document project information.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively in a team environment.

4. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn estimating software.

5. Enthusiastic attitude, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites and sales meetings as needed.

7. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

8. Interest in the roofing industry and a desire to pursue a career path in estimating, sales, or related fields.
