Job Summary: To excel in this role, one should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to chase and close new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads. The Business Development manager will ideally possess an academic background and experience in electrical engineering, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organization, and enhanced multitasking abilities. B2B sales, marketing and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals. The ideal candidate has experience researching market trends, targeting relationships, and using proven methods to develop our business strategy while retaining marketing partners.
Qualifications:
- Successful experience in major account sales
- Successful experience in inside sales
- Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.
- Strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management skills
- Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally
- Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management
- Experience in cross-selling electronic hardware, software & services
- Experience with consultative and solutions-selling to asset management, operations & maintenance and engineering groups in electrical power industry
- Previous exposure to technologies, tools and processes used in condition based and predictive based strategies of high voltage/substation equipment operators
Duties:
- Develop, execute, and oversee a business strategy that prioritizes growth and positive customer ratings
- Setting sales goals and KPIs to manage activity within the team
- Ongoing training of the sales team on sales techniques, strategies, etc.
- Developing sales team through motivation, counseling, and product knowledge education
- Maintain positive professional relationships with clients
- Use financial techniques to improve sales revenue
- Monitor sales progress to ensure that corporate goals are being met
- Lead efforts with product management, marketing, and other interested parties to develop sales tools, e.g. quick sales guides, questionnaires, etc.
- Collaborate with sales team to develop and manage target customer lists
- Attend relevant technical conferences for networking with key influencers
- Other duties as assigned

- Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective sales solutions
- Promote the company’s products or services to prospective clients
- Participate in collaborative business meetings to update key stakeholders
