Job Description

The outside sales representative is responsible for client acquisition and developing mutually advantageous relationships with prospective customers through the promotion and selling of the company’s products and services. The sales representative shall achieve this by uncovering and qualifying opportunity in various industries (ie. Transportation, healthcare, commodities, manufacturing, logistics, construction, energy).

  • Routine travel to visit new/existing clients and to attend relevant trade shows.
  • Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities.
  • Provide client support by responding to their inquiries and requests.
  • Partner with current clients to ascertain current needs and generate additional sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with marketing to identify and promote sales opportunities.
  • Ensure that databases are current and updated with accurate client information.
  • Routinely research and reference industry reports for additional sales opportunities.
  • Routinely pull data from company databases and systems to qualify additional sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate with operations team to ensure future business is properly resourced to maximize effective growth and minimize service quality risks.
  • Be a liaison between client and company managers (CM, SPM, PM) during ongoing projects.
  • Review project deliverables to ensure firm’s standards and customer expectations are met.
  • Execute timely preparation of all reports: expense, call/meeting, and project (as applicable).
  • Protect company's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Keep management and sales team informed of all relevant activity.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals.
  • Attend company meetings / calls, as required.
  • Participate in the continual improvement of the firm’s internal processes, sales structure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional Military background strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university (any discipline)
  • 5+ years of software and/or consulting sales experience
  • Ability to craft, sell and deliver bespoke solutions to ease client pain points
  • Proficient with Office365 tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Comfortable working with and selling data analytics

  • Customer service skills to listen and address client concerns.
  • Confidence and strong self-assuredness to succeed in cold-calling and asking for a sale.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Attention to detail; motivated; team-focused; and results driven.
  • Understand and possess ability to articulate the value of operations analytics systems.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, especially persuasion to clearly convey the benefits of a service/product to potential clients.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently exceeding sales targets.
  • Physical Demands – Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
