Reporting to: National Sales Manager
Responsibilities
- Has a basic understanding of our company’s policies, procedures, products and services and capabilities to serve our customers. Seeks assistance, as necessary with unfamiliar situations.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with assigned customers while gaining an understanding of their businesses, organization, and needs. Establishes a phone protocol to effectively communicate and follow up with customers.
- Effectively uses live chats through the company’s/division’s website, while maintaining professionalism and useful sales techniques to ensure an understand of customer needs.
- Utilizes and navigates the ERP system seamlessly to ensure efficiency, consistency, and to provide high customer satisfaction.
- Partners with outside sales staff to identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing or potential new customers. Manages leads through tracking and follow up.
- Communicates effectively with the customer. Provides complete information to the appropriate internal company resources to be able to effectively serve them.
- Develops effective relationships with appropriate internal company resources to be able to serve as a liaison in effectively serving our existing customers and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Responds to customer’s requests for quotes by entering the necessary information into the quoting system and responding in a timely manner.
- Communicates with customers to enter incoming orders into the system with complete and accurate information regarding quantity, specifications, and desired delivery dates.
- Works closely with the credit department to verify the customer’s credit status and to resolve any credit issues.
- Tracks orders, communicates with internal company resources and the customer regarding the status of orders and the need for any changes, and effectively serves as a liaison to develop solutions to any order processing issues. Seeks assistance, as necessary, to resolve more complex issues in an effective manner.
- Processes customer returns according to established policies and procedures.
- Keeps the supervisor aware in a timely manner of any issues needing the supervisor’s involvement as well as any changes in customer or industry trends that are observed through the regular interaction with customers.
- Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.
Requirements
· High school education is required. At least some college education in a related field is preferred.
· Through related experience has demonstrated the skills and ability to be an effective inside sales representative with the company.
· Has a strong customer orientation with excellent communications and interpersonal skills to be able to interact effectively with customers and internal company resources.
· Has experience with an ERP system.
· Has the skills and ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing or new customers.
· Has excellent computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs.
· Has strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands.
· High energy with a sense of urgency in responding to customer needs.
· High level of personal and professional integrity.
· Is committed to the company’s values.
Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.
