Position Summary

We are seeking an exceptional VP of Platform Engineering to lead our IT team and drive the strategic direction of our technology platform. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, operations, and security of our AWS Cloud-based platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and adherence to industry-leading cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

Platform Strategy and Development

- Establish the technical vision and roadmap for the Startup Space platform, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives and growth strategy.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, data analytics, and customer success, to translate business requirements into scalable and innovative technical solutions.

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of new platform features and capabilities, leveraging modern technologies and best practices.

- Foster a culture of continuous innovation, encouraging the adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance the platform's capabilities and user experience.

Cloud Infrastructure and Operations

- Oversee the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of the AWS Cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.

- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues, ensuring high platform availability

- Collaborate with the DevOps team to establish and maintain automated deployment pipelines, enabling rapid and reliable software delivery.

Cybersecurity and Data Protection

- Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the platform adheres to industry-leading security practices and regulatory compliance

- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential risks.

- Oversee data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and data integrity checks, ensuring the protection of sensitive client and user data.

- Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

- Attract, retain, and develop top technology talent, providing guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth.

- Promote Agile methodologies and DevOps practices within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive planning.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- Proven experience of 15+ years in a senior IT leadership role, with a strong background in SaaS technology platforms and cloud computing.

- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and other core services.

- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, technologies, and regulatory compliance requirements.

- Expertise in PHP Laravel and modern frontend technologies.

- Demonstrated success in leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities.
