Responsibilities:
The Role
The Revenue Accounting SBU Manager reports to the Sr. Director, Revenue Accounting and leads a team of 4 Analysts. The team oversees O2C for a portfolio of Food/Drug/Mass (FDM)customers that roll up to a Sales Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The team provides end-to-end customer management encompassing (1) A/R collections, (2) Trade Promotion & Supply Chain deduction resolution, (3) management of business process outsourcing (BPO) to Brokers, and (4) net revenue analysis. The team provides comprehensive and cohesive SBU-level analyses and information that support Sales and Finance in decision-making, direction, and growth.
The Manager works closely with other leaders and departments across PNC. They are a dynamic results-driven leader who facilitates operational excellence and builds for high-scale growth. Passionate about leading and developing team members, championing process improvements, and propelling efficiencies. Excellent cross-functional partner to the other SBU Managers, Sales, Finance, Operations, and internal/external auditors. Upholds sound ethics and integrity.

The position will be based out of our 60,000 sq. foot, modern Emeryville, California office. WE ARE A CULTURE OF PERSONAL CONNECTON, WHICH IS WHY WE’VE CHOSEN A PERMANENT HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT WITH NORMS THAT EQUATE TO 2-3 DAYS MID-WEEK IN THE OFFICE FOR EMPLOYEES BASED IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. The expected pay scale this role is $125k to $135k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.

TEAM BUILDING & MANAGEMENT: 30% OF TIME
o Lead, develop, & coach your team of 4 direct reports
o Collaborate with Sr. Director to set team goals & objectives
o Meet regularly with the team and 1:1 to establish priorities, resolve issues, and plan execution
o Conduct quarterly conversations about performance and development
o Ensure direct reports have clear expectations & goals that reflect what success looks like
o Hire, train, and retain staff
o Foster a culture of Good Energy within your team, e.g., celebrating small and big successes and playing to win

SBU CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT & RESULTS: 40% OF TIME
o Owns the A/R aging for FDM customers including Collections, Deduction Management, & Revenue Recovery
o Manages resources to implement optimal capabilities, ways of working, structure, & output within the team
o Establishes best practices to drive DSO to <=35 days, $0 outstanding sales invoice balances > 60 DBT, Days Deductions Outstanding of <= 30 days for Trade, and a 70% minimum recovery rate for shortage disputes
o Accountable for 24-hr SLA to review open customer orders pending approval to ship based on account standing
o Leverages High Radius to execute on collections strategy and deduction backup aggregation
o Leverages BluePlanner TPM and NetSuite to manage Trade Promotion settlements and Shortage deductions
o Manages Crossmark (broker) BPO for admin tasks such as shortage disputes, deduction coding, and settlements
o Serves as the escalation point for the SBU Analysts to address performance or other issues with Crossmark
o Disseminates reports & analytics with the status of open A/R and P&L impact of settlements by customer & SBU
o Identifies opportunities to stop revenue leakage and claw back invalid customer deductions
o Primary resource to Sales, Sales Planning, and FP&A for trade accounting expertise & analytics, including forecast contributions
o Leads FDM portion of monthly meetings with Sales, Sales Planning, and FP&A to review customer agings, P&Ls, & Trade variances to forecast
o Project Lead for cross-functional or enterprise initiatives, alongside Revenue Acctg Ops project managers
o Participates in the implementation of a new trade promotions management system and trade initiatives
o Works cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, IT, & brokers to resolve delinquency or invalid deductions.

MONTHLY CLOSE: 15% OF TIME
o Participates in a fast-paced and deadline driven close cycle by managing accruals & reconciliations for FDM SBU
o Presents to VP Controller and Sr. Director the A/R aging status, key issues, and productivity statistics. Highlights actionable issues for Sales escalation with root cause, next steps, and estimated resolution time.
o Responsible for analysis of trade variances to forecast at the brand, customer, and promotion levels, including impact of rate, mix, and volume .
o Executes SOX controls

o Collaborates with Sr. Director to provide thought leadership and develop the Rev Acctg team’s operational roadmap
o Scopes and stays abreast of new technologies, best-in-class practices, and industry benchmarks

Qualifications:
What are we looking for?

QUALIFICATIONS
o Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance or equivalent work experience
o 5+ years’ accounts receivable & deduction management, and/or sales finance experience
o A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading teams, with progressive responsibility
o Servant leader management philosophy
o Proficient in NetSuite, Trade Promotion Management systems, Adaptive Insights, or similar
o Advanced Excel requisite and knowledge of Tableau or other BI tool
o CPG experience desired
o Desire to be a part of a team working in a rapidly-growing, fast-paced, success-focused environment
