Job title: Business Development Manager – Plastics Injections/Thermoforming

Reports to: CEO with dotted line to GM of Thermofab, our plastics location.

Job location: Remote, United States

Travel: Yes, up to 50% – Trade Shows, visiting manufacturers, East Coast plant, going where the business is. Utilizing a system called Ramp for booking travel and given a company credit card.

Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 + commission

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.

Required Experience:

  • B2B Sales experience within the plastics industry (preferably Thermoforming or Injection Molding)
  • West Coast business relationships.

Preferred Experience:

  • MBA is preferred for advancement.
  • Machining industry experience – medical, defense, security (we have airport scanners that you walk into for security), and consumables such as big belly garbologist stuff I told you about. Mush have west coast presence – relationships with businesses out there.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective: Business Development Managers play a crucial role in the success of an organization. These professionals generate new sales leads, negotiate client pricing, and forecast sales revenue, all to support one of the most important Business Development Manager responsibilities — helping organizations maximize their profits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the company values, vision, and mission.
  • Uphold the quality policy.
  • Follows safety requirements.
  • Follow policies and procedures.
  • Identify and research potential clients.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals.
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed.
  • Gather useful information from customer and competitor data.
  • Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives.
  • Create and implement processes and policies to support the overall business.
  • Track, identify and add qualified prospects to sales pipeline.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.
  • Track and report on the status of proposal components.
  • Conduct ongoing market research.
  • Work with the pricing department to create rate proposals.
  • Drive the end-to-end sales process.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts.

  • Demonstrateing equipment, logistics and supply-chain management.
  • Problem-solving skills to propose mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients.

  • Ability to handle pressures and meet deadlines.
