As we build on our organization's desire to be a market leader and position our organization as customer-centric, we are seeking brand ambassadors who can lead this charge. This is underpinned by having the right people in the right roles. To that end, we are in pursuit of a highly skilled automotive navigator with strong customer-facing engineer experience to guide our engineering activities with our North American customers. This role, located in Troy, Michigan, is critical for our team, providing strategic and tactical support by owning the voice of the customer to our L.A. development team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The role of the OE Business Development Manager is to generate new, profitable revenue streams for existing and new products and customers while continuously iterating and executing a strategy for future growth with new customers.

- This position focuses primarily on selling into the OEM passenger vehicle markets and adjacent OE sales channels (aftermarket parts business) with additional markets, segments, and channels to be considered based on new compelling strategies.
- Manage internal and external sales channels. Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with customers, including automotive OEM employees, OE aftersales personnel, OE dealerships, and other B2B partners.
- Act as the “voice of the customer” within Ampure to ensure new project proposals exceed customer expectations.
- Maintain market and product volume and revenue models based on a comprehensive understanding of OE planning, vehicle launch life cycle management, and EVSE market drivers and trends. Leverage these models and knowledge to provide input to our product roadmap and marketing strategies.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of Ampure products and processes and an understanding of their relative position within the competitive landscape.
- It's essential to have a strong ability and capabilities to develop a solid value proposition and articulate it dynamically using tools like PowerPoint & Excel.
- Represent Ampure at applicable industry/market events.
- Prepare tailored sales, marketing, and strategy material that effectively communicates value propositions and narratives.
- Regularly support, interface, and collaborate with management/executive teams on reporting and strategic business proposal reviews.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work independently
Required Skills:
- Experience in the Electric Vehicle market is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate would have Tier 1 automotive supplier experience.
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in sales, business development, or strategy.
- Experience in the EVSE market is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a business, marketing, strategy, or engineering focus
- Experience working with global OMEs and working within an international team is preferred
- Must have verifiable sales, strategy, or business development success exceeding personal quotas for revenue generation or business expansion
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, ability to define and execute a path to success given only high-level targets
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
- Located in Michigan, within the Greater Detroit Metropolitan area preferred
