We are currently looking for a New Business Sales Representative to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the New Business Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new client relationships to drive profitable growth for the company, representing our full suite of media products, services, as well as introduce prospective clients to our new media and new data analytics platform. The focus of the role is to meet or exceed revenue targets, developing relationships into new customers and verticals, work with our Client Solutions Consultants on media planning and proposals for seamless execution of multi-channel campaigns in cooperation with appropriate product specialists.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and develop new accounts, including cold calling;
  • In conjunction with the Client Solutions Consultants, the Business Development Consultant is responsible for planning and executing media campaigns for new direct account clients;
  • Lead business development efforts for our new data analytics service;
  • Meet assigned expectations for profitability and productivity while under pressure of daily deadlines;
  • Keep current with all research information related to readership of print and digital media products;
  • Achieve and exceed revenue quotas through the sale of SaltWire services and solutions across all platforms;
  • Manage data for new and prospective clients in the CRM, ensuring all client communications are logged, information is accurate, and documents are attached. As well, daily funnel activity is to be inputted, this would include but not be limited to Leads, Opportunities, Campaigns, Closes, and Forecasts;
  • Work with Client Services Team to ensure efficient flow of all aspects of the solutions process including booking, processing of advertising material, proofing approval, special invoicing requirements, prepayments, and credit information.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field;
  • Ideal candidate has 5+ years in Sales, Business Development, Account Management or Media experience;
  • Demonstrated success in driving new business growth;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Dynamic, motivating, and team-oriented with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and deadlines;
  • Proactive mentality with curiosity and desire to learn and grow;
  • Candidates with an established network of professional connections in the region considered an asset;
  • Experience with data, analytics, and technology;
  • Creatively-minded with a desire to find solutions and overcome hurdles;
  • Inclined to simplify and focus, rather than overcomplicate and chase bright shiny objects;
  • Empathetic and interested in others, with a desire to learn more about their needs and a genuine want to help improve customers’ experiences;
  • Open minded, willing to learn, and comfortable with continuously changing opportunities and priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
