The Highlands Living Center has a new, exciting opportunity!
We are looking for a full time Environmental Services Supervisor to join our great Environmental Services team. This is a full time position 37.5 hours per week, and every other weekend.

The primary purpose of your job is to provide Environmental Services staff with the training, supervision, controls, supplies and motivation necessary to perform all cleaning functions to meet pre-established standards in the quality and quantity of work accomplished throughout the facility.

Job Duties:

  • Directs the activities of environmental services staff and oversees Linen Distribution, inclusive of laundry personnel;
  • Schedules work activities
  • Posts work schedules
  • Sets work priorities
  • Inspects to ensure that schedules and pre-established standards of quality and quantity are being met
  • Orders and maintains par levels of laundry.
  • Takes environmental service calls.
  • Fill in relief for aides.
  • Assists with interviews for prospective employees and assists with hiring decisions.
  • Resolves customer complaints
  • Supervises special projects and isolation and terminal cleaning, etc.
  • Controls and orders inventory of supplies, tools, equipment, etc. and insures their adequacy
  • Maintains records for scheduling, attendance, special cleaning projects and inspections. Submits the appropriate reports to the Director of Facilities/Environmental Services.
  • Conducts weekly quality assurance rounds to monitor cleanliness in area of the facility.
  • Required to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Assists in facility room changes
  • Keeps track of admissions, discharges and room changes and make sure rooms are ready for admissions
  • Works with maintenance and CS departments to ensure rooms are turned around in a timely manner
  • Assists Director of facilities with monthly staff meetings
  • Assists Director of Facilities with staff compliance (my path)
  • Provides formal and on the job training as needs require.
  • Coordinates cleaning activities.
  • Consults and coordinates with other departmental supervisors and managers on problems which affect Environmental/Laundry Services operations and delivery of services.
  • Reports hazards (infestations, malfunctions), etc for remedial action.
  • Tests new supplies and equipment for possible use.
  • May be required to fill in for the Director of Facilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Five years or more cleaning and supervisory experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.

Pay Range: $19.00 to 27.00/hr.
