Our Staff Software Engineer is a lead member of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of reliability and availability. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge experience to improve application’s performance, capacity benchmarking, improve availability and reliability, design and evolve cloud/infrastructure architecture, and leverage engineering solutions to solve operational problems.
Position Responsibilities:
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with the product teams to understand their pain points around performance, resiliency and formulate strategies to address recurring issues in a sustainable way.
- Influence and build vision with product owners to ship quality products in a faster pace.
- Have technical experience in Capacity benchmarking, application profiling and tuning through open-source technologies.
- Take data driven approach to make decision around capacity needs, application availability and reliability.
- Propose new design and develop solutions to solve complex problems in application resiliency and availability
- Mentor more junior team members professionally to help them realize their full potential
- Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
- Have Strong problem-solving skills
Qualifications:
- Experience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
- Strong understanding on service level objective (SLO’s) and Service level indicators (SLIs)
- Fluency and Specialization with any one of the programming languages such as Python, Java or C#
- Strong understanding of compute resources and hardware profiles both in private and public cloud.
- Expert in Container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes), container runtimes and optimization
- Fluency in DevOps Concepts (continuous delivery and infrastructure as code) and Cloud Architecture
- Experience in application monitoring tools and profiling tools (e.g. CPU, Memory profiling tools)
- In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
Experience:
- 6+ years of professional Software development experience
- 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
- 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks – capacity modeling/benchmarking, application performance benchmarking, auto-recovery/auto-remediation tools
- 3+ years of experience with one of the public cloud - Azure, AWS, GCP, or another cloud service
- 1+ years of people management experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
