Job Description
The Director of Business Development is responsible for understanding the prospect base and leveraging modern sales processes and tools to uncover new opportunities. The Director will take ownership of generating the sales needed for the business to thrive by implementing a proven system for filling, developing, and maintaining a rich pipeline of potential business. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of driving growth in a competitive market.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Leads sales, marketing, customer-service, and client relationship management.
Leadership and Team Building:
· Recruit, train, and mentor a team of sales professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
· Set clear performance expectations and goals for the sales team, providing regular feedback, and coaching to ensure continuous improvement.
· Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, share best practices, and align on strategies.
Market Research and Analysis:
· Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and market trends within the security industry.
· Tracks emerging markets and trends.
· Identifies and recommends new services.
Sales Strategy Development:
· Develop and implement effective sales strategies to generate leads and secure new business.
· Collaborate with other departments to create compelling sales materials and campaigns.
· Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve targets.
Client Relationship Management:
· Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners and industry influencers.
· Conducts presentations to raise the brand and company profile.
· Participates in networking activities that support business development in local territory.
· Serve as primary point of contact for new business inquiries and client onboarding process.
· Ensure client satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing tailored solutions.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
· Work closely with senior management to align business development efforts with company goals.
· Helps to shape the company’s long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.
· Lead the sales team in executing strategic plans and achieving sales targets.
· Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.
Qualifications/Skills:
· Excellent understanding of the mechanics of complex selling, have a process for lead generation, and thrive on prospecting activity.
· Excellent relationship building, presentation, sales, & negotiation skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Enjoys working in a transparent position and working in a team atmosphere.
· This is an autonomous position and requires self-sufficiency and self-motivation.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
· 5+ years of outside sales experience with proof of meeting and exceeding quota.
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; master’s degree is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building to perform duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time, including fonts of various sizes from various sources.
Salary Range - $90,000 - $110,000 per year Plus generous commission
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $133,918.00 - $148,759.00 per year
Expected hours: 40 per week
