Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team and drive the adoption of Efabless’ ChipIgnite platform among potential customers in the semiconductor and hardware design industry. The ideal candidate will bridge the technical and sales teams, demonstrating the value of the ChipIgnite platform, and providing hands-on support to customers from initial contact to final engagement. This role requires strong technical knowledge in semiconductor design and a passion for driving customer success in a highly innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Identify and engage with potential customers, including universities, startups, and established companies, to introduce the ChipIgnite platform and explain its benefits.
- Technical Presentations: Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations, addressing customer challenges and showcasing how ChipIgnite can meet their design needs.
- Solution Engineering: Work with customers to understand their specific needs and customize solutions based on ChipIgnite’s capabilities.
- Sales Support: Assist the sales team in developing proposals, quotations, and sales strategies, acting as the technical liaison between the sales team and the customer.
- Technical Support: Provide first-line support for customer inquiries related to ChipIgnite’s capabilities, helping troubleshoot design issues or directing inquiries to appropriate support channels.
- Market Feedback: Collect customer and market feedback, sharing insights with internal teams to guide product improvements and marketing strategies.
- Product Knowledge: Stay current with semiconductor design trends, open-source design tools, and Efabless offerings to effectively communicate the value of ChipIgnite to potential customers.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, or a related role in the semiconductor or EDA industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of semiconductor design and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with open-source design tools and open-source silicon design concepts.
- Knowledge of ASIC design flows and methodologies is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of building strong customer relationships and driving successful technical engagements.
- Sales Aptitude:
- Experience in sales or business development within a technical field.
- Ability to understand customer pain points and align product offerings to meet customer needs.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed for customer meetings and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with or supporting university or startup customers.
- Knowledge of open-source EDA tools such as OpenLane, Magic, OpenROAD, or others.
- Familiarity with the unique needs and dynamics of smaller semiconductor design teams or startup environments.
