Role Overview:
As a Business Development Professional for our Sports Division, you’ll be a key player in driving new business and expanding existing client relationships across the state of

Indiana. You’ll focus on generating sales for high-impact sports construction projects, including everything from athletic fields and tracks to complex sports facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the sports construction sector, including sports complexes, school athletic fields, and community recreation facilities.
  • Relationship Building: Develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including athletic directors, facility managers, school districts, municipalities, and sports organizations.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with our project managers and design team to understand client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Lead sales negotiations, generate proposals, and close deals to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to position Byrne & Jones as the go-to for all sports facilities.


What You Bring to the Table:

  • Sales Experience: A proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within the construction, sports facility, or infrastructure industries, is preferred and/or a results-oriented individual with a strong desire to work within a highly driven sales team.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the sports construction market or a strong passion for the sports industry is a plus.
  • Goal-Oriented: Strong motivation to meet and exceed sales goals, with a focus on long-term relationship-building.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; you can present and negotiate with senior executives, architects, and clients with ease.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage your own pipeline, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
