Job Description

Valley Steel & Wire is looking for an experienced Customer Service professional to join our team serving current customers and establish new customer relationships & sales opportunities.

This role is designed to be a starting point for a beginner to intermediate level sales professional with a strong customer service background who feels ready to take their career to the next level for service & relationship based selling. Some prior sales experience could be an advantage.

A typical day may include serving customers over the phone, through email, and walk-in. Outgoing calls to existing customers – some of whom have been customers for decades - and reaching out to prospective customers to establish new connections, build rapport, and sales.

Serve existing and new customers by providing service and using effective sales strategies.

Serve customers by phone, email, and walk-in with orders, quotes, and inquiries.

0Use relationship-focused sales & service methods to build long-term customer relationships.

Coordinate directly with buyers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.

Communicate market changes, specials, and promotions to customers.

Generate and cultivate new customer relationships to build new sales with outgoing calls.

Answer incoming calls to help customers with orders, quotes, and inquiries.

Acquire information from vendors for sourcing and quoting special order products.

Provide courteous and complete communication by phone, email, and face-to-face.

Record and maintain detailed records.

Process payments; cash, check, credit card.

Additional responsibilities are added over time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Customer service: 3 years (Required)
  • Sales: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
