Golf Sales Representative
Department: Sales, reports to Sales Manager
Exemption Status: Salary/Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
A Golf Sales Representative sells golf-related products or services to customers, including golf courses, retailers, golf professionals, and individual consumers. This role requires knowledge of the golf industry, excellent communication skills, and building and maintaining client relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a customer base by selling products to maintain and grow golf courses
- Build long-term relationships with existing clients, including golf course owners, superintendents, general managers, pro shops, and corporate accounts.
- Stay current with the latest trends in the golf industry, including new equipment, products, and technology.
- Track and report sales activity, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Analyze market conditions, customer behavior, and competitors.
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Plays an integral role in new business pitches and holds responsibility for effectively onboarding new clients.
- Responsible for the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel.
- Focusing on growing and developing existing clients, together with generating new business.
- Write business plans for all current and opportunity tender businesses.
- You will be the key interface between the customer and all relevant internal employees.
- Understand customer demands and how to meet these demands while generating revenue for the company
- Ability to work together with all levels of a company
- Process orders and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Adjust strategies based on feedback and evolving industry trends.
- Forecast sales trends and identify new market opportunities.
- Demonstrate and educate customers on how products work
- Meet or exceed sales quotas and targets.
- Provide product recommendations based on client needs and preferences.
- Offer post-sales support, such as helping customers with product issues or questions.
- Create and implement sales strategies to meet targets and increase revenue.
- Attend golf trade shows, tournaments, and events to network and promote products.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Highly self-motivated
- Strong account management and relationship-building skills
- Time-efficiency in regards to communication with both clients and internal team
- Ability to work out sales deals that will accomplish budgeted margins and correspond to the company’s sales policies
- Proficient in both Microsoft Office and Google Apps
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of industry experience
- 1-3 years of sales experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Turf Management or an equivalent field
- Clean driving record
