Compensation: Salary negotiable based on skills and experience followed by 9% commission with bonus options every 90 days based on performance.

About Mean Mule Distilling Co.:

Mean Mule Distilling Co. is crafting exceptional American Agave spirits in Kansas City and is looking for an individual to grow and manage sales in Missouri and Kansas. We are looking for a dynamic Brand Ambassador / Sales Representative who is enthusiastic about promoting and growing our brand through direct sales and public engagement.

Job Description:

This role combines strategic sales responsibilities with dynamic brand promotion. You will be responsible for upholding a deep knowledge of the agave spirits category and market, managing relationships with sales reps and buyers, on and off-premise, including engaging directly with the public through tastings at retail accounts, charitable events, festivals, and other promotional activations. The role is based in Kansas City with frequent travel within the assigned territories (St. Louis, Lake of Ozarks, greater KS, etc). The role aims to expand our brand's footprint and achieve sales targets. The position will be evaluated quarterly on sales performance and the following metrics: “get it, want it, capacity to do it.”

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to enhance brand presence and meet sales goals.
  • Educate and train distributor representatives and buyers on our products, ensuring high visibility and preference in their accounts.
  • Plan and schedule weekly market visits on and off-premise and handle related administrative tasks such as reporting and follow-ups.
  • Conduct staff training, manage tastings, and handle event setup and teardown.
  • Provide excellent customer service and engage consumers by sharing the story and values of Mean Mule Distilling Co.
  • Maintain consistent communication with partners and team members to foster strong relationships and ensure brand consistency.
  • Track and report on market activities, feedback, and the effectiveness of promotional efforts.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven sales experience, preferably in the beverage industry.
  • Strong public speaking and customer engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, data management, and sales reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passionate about customer service and brand representation.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the territory.
  • Additional skills: such as being a good jokester.
  • Willingness to work solo with accountability and integrity.
  • Prioritizes healthy lifestyles and being a role model within the spirits industry.
  • Understanding of the Agave spirits category, politics, and processes.

Job Types: Full-time, Commission

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
