This position serves as an Email Account Management Administrator, providing technical support to users of the electronic mail accounts for the Illinois Enterprise E-mail network. In this role you will provide professional information, training, and problem solving through telephone support or direct contact with e-mail users. In addition, you will serve as e-mail administrator for Microsoft Exchange/Outlook support and assist in maintaining PIM related documentation. Essential Functions
- Under general direction, serves as an Email Account Management Administrator for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performs professional advisory functions in Client Services by providing tier II support for end-users of electronic email accounts for the Illinois Enterprise E-mail Network.
- Serves as e-mail administrator for Microsoft Exchange/Outlook support performing difficult and specialized work in in PIM Services.
- Assists in communicating with agency, help desk, management team and post migration team ensuring new and modified procedures are accurately distributed.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Client Services or a related Information Technology field.
Specialized Skills
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience managing accounts and data in Active Directory, eDirectory, Microsoft Desktop OS, Enterprise Vault, or TCP/IP
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience configuring email clients utilizing Exchange client, e-mail server administration, or e-mail migration methods and procedures.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience providing technical support to end users in a computer help desk environment.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience monitoring requests and assigning tasks within a help desk ticketing system.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of professional experience managing accounts and data in Active Directory, eDirectory, Microsoft Desktop OS, Enterprise Vault, or TCP/IP
- One (1) year of professional experience configuring email clients utilizing Exchange client, E-email server administration, or e-mail migration methods and procedures.
- One (1) year of professional experience providing technical support to end users in a computer help desk environment.
- One (1) year of professional experience monitoring requests and assigning tasks within a help desk ticketing system.
- Extensive knowledge of mobile device management and support.
- Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
