Job Overview:

The Maintenance and Toolroom Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of mold making, repairs, and day-to day activities within an injection molding manufacturing company. This role involves managing both the maintenanceteam and the toolroom operations to ensure maximum efficiency and output of facilities and machinery.

Responsibilities:

· Establish daily schedules and plans to support efficient 24/7 production operation for mold making and repairs.

· Oversee and coordinate mold repairs, reworks, and rebuilds using both internal and external resources.

· Participate in identifying and resolving mold issues in collaboration with Manufacturing, Scheduling, Purchasing, Engineering, and QA departments.

· Develop mold designs, fabrication, and commissioning of molds for new products.

· Provide supervision, guidance, and training to maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with company rules and regulations.

· Plan work assignments, staffing requirements, and procure necessary tools, parts, and supplies for maintenance activities.

· Assist in preparing yearly operating and capital budgets, keeping the Plant Manager informed of maintenance activities' status.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures to improve operational performance.

· Evaluate and plan training needs for specific maintenance skill sets and crafts.

· Manage the disposal process of obsolete machinery, plant, and equipment in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.

· Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to ISO management systems, OSHA, and safety requirements.

· Supervise and coordinate activities related to the production and repair of molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

· Collaborate with other departments to maximize planned downtime and reduce unplanned downtime.

· Establish and maintain a PM system for maintenance and tooling

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of Mold Design experience or 20 years as a Journeyman Mold Maker.

Experience:2-3 years of direct or indirect supervisory experience, along with extensive experience in plastic injection mold making, designing, and CNC programming.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Proficiency in CAM (preferably SurfCam), CAD (preferably SolidWorks), Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.

· Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to interact well with others and be a positive team member.

· Leadership skills, sound judgment, and decision-making capabilities.

· Ability to manage a tool room and maintenance department in a production environment with frequently changing priorities.

· Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to company values.

Work Conditions:

· Work environments may include occasionally cold, hot, wet, and humid conditions, with moving mechanical parts and high noise levels.

· Physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping will be required.

All employees will receive training in our ISO management systems, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 9001: 2015; as well as all OSHA & Safety required trainings in accordance with their job duties/department.

All employees are required to adhere to the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements on production floor set forth by the EHS & Management Team. Employees are required to wear all PPE working on production floor and requirements of any machinery and electricity that adhere to Osha requirements.
