PLC Programmer & Automation Specialist

Maple Automotive Corporation (MAC), located in Cambridge and Woodstock, ON, is currently looking for a PLC Programmer & Automation Specialist to join our ever-growing team. MAC is part of the Toyota Tsusho Group of companies located world-wide, and we are part of a multi-market, multi-business enterprise with expertise in exporting and importing, new manufacturing, intermediate goods processing and logistics in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, time management, the ability to work alone, as well as in a team setting, have excellent problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to maintain and support manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot highly automated equipment such as PLC, Robot, HMI and Servo control.
  • Extensive experience with Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley PLC programming.
  • A strong understanding of industrial network MELSENET/H, CC-Link, DivceNet.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings and machine specifications.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance activities.
  • Identity and recommend technical and adaptive solutions for change.
  • Communicate with internal and external parties.
  • Stay up-to-date with the ever-changing tech landscape.
  • Maintain 5S standards in working environment.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement (Kaizen projects).
  • Perform other duties and tasks assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Related College Diploma in Robotics/Automation with a strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an automotive environment (preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, breakdowns, etc.).
  • Must be able to work in Cambridge and Woodstock.
  • Is available and willing to work mandatory overtime maintenance shifts are longer to support our production department.
  • Has a great attendance record and arrives to work on time.
  • Experience with the Toyota Production System an asset.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts- between days and afternoon as scheduled.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
