Essential Functions
The Department of Computer Science (CS) in the College of Sciences at the University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for up to three (3) fixed-term track (FTT) faculty members to specialize in teaching.
Computer Science currently has 26 tenured/tenure-track and 18 fixed-term track full-time faculty members, offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs, and supports about 1,911 undergraduates, 119 master's students, and 71 Ph.D. students.
We seek outstanding candidates with teaching expertise in areas to include introductory programming; software engineering; discrete math; cybersecurity; systems; artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science; human-computer interaction; and mobile application development. Strong candidates with expertise in any area of computer science are welcome. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated to teaching computer science and have a record of (or potential for) excellent teaching. We welcome individuals with industry experience who wish to begin or continue a teaching career.
Candidates with experience in contemporary approaches to CS education, including active learning, project-based learning, and classroom-based learning assistance, are especially encouraged to apply.
Primary duties will be teaching undergraduate computer science courses, four courses/sections per semester (Fall and Spring).
Selected graduate teaching may be available depending on candidate's expertise.
One of the three positions has the possibility for an administrative leadership role in our MS in Cybersecurity Science degree program for a qualified candidate.

- Two or more years of effective teaching experience at undergraduate level in Computer Science or a closely related field (including teaching assistant experience).

- Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
