Business Development Manager

Location: Commerce, California, USA

Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, fostering strong customer relationships, and identifying new opportunities to expand our market presence. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to sales and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers to drive sales growth and ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and achieve company growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D and Quality, to develop innovative products and solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Introduce specialty products to capture new market segments and increase revenue.
  • Work closely with the customer service department and other internal stakeholders to maximize customer satisfaction and meet market demands.
  • * Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts for key customers,
  • ensuring accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead internal and external meetings, including presentations of company products and capabilities, to differentiate our offerings and identify new opportunities.
  • Conduct domestic and international travel for customer visits, trade shows, and market research to gain insights and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Provide feedback to management on market changes and customer needs to inform strategic decision-making and ensure a strong market presence.
  • Collaborate with the President and other team members to achieve sales and profit objectives and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Polymers Science, Plastics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience within the medical sector is preferred, but not required; willingness to learn and adapt to industry-specific requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders of all levels.
  • Proven ability to identify market opportunities, analyze data, and develop strategic plans to drive business growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for customer visits and industry events.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Information:

  • This position will start with a combination of Account Manager and Business Development Manager responsibilities, transitioning into a full Business Development Manager role after completion of training (9-12 months).
  • Significant travel (2-3 days/week with overnight stays) within the USA and potentially Mexico is required, with travel expenses reimbursed.
  • Office-based role during the training period, transitioning to a hybrid model afterward.
  • Competitive compensation package including a base salary of $80,000 to $100,000 USD annually, performance bonuses, comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision), paid time off, standard company holidays, and 401K matching after one year.
