Location: Thurston County – Olympia, Washington. This position is full-time and Hybrid/Remote Optional

The Opportunity:
The Software Quality Assurance (QA) Tester is a key position supporting application development teams by designing, developing, and leading all software testing to ensure high quality in product deliverables. In this role, you’ll lead Quality Assurance (QA) Test activities for assigned projects, as an essential function of the DCYF IT software development process. This position has the primary responsibility within the Agile teams for software testing including identifying defects, performance issues, and risk areas.
Some of what you will get to do:
- Create system and business-relevant test cases, writing manual and automated test scripts & dependency data.
- Conduct usability testing to verify software meets UI standards and complies with ADA requirements.
- Create and maintain data in multiple test environments.
- Verify test results and impacts to data using database analysis tools.
- Execute regression tests to ensure functional stability of software releases.
- Test data fixes to validate that the resolution code is only applied to specific records.
- Evaluate and recommend software quality assurance plans and procedures, templates, for projects based on best practices for the type of project.
- Develop test plans and strategies for complex regional, divisional, or multifunctional applications.
- Perform smoke tests in support of production deployments.
- Research issues and validate solutions to QA issues.
Required Qualifications:
Five (5) years of testing experience in a software development environment such as: writing manual and automated test scripts, executing test scripts, smoke tests, system tests, performance tests, regression tests, and user acceptance tests.
OR
A Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field.
AND
Three (3) years of testing experience in a software development environment such as: writing manual and automated test scripts, executing test scripts, smoke tests, system tests, performance tests, regression tests, and user acceptance tests.
In addition to the requirements above, our ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following:
- Working knowledge of Scrum, DevOps, or any other Agile development methodology.
- Demonstrable and successful experience with test automation of multi-tiered web applications, including Selenium, SOAP UI, or similar tools.
- Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) to access and manipulate data from a command line and database management tools.
- Understanding of SQL to access and manipulate data from command line and database management tools.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC).
- Thorough knowledge of hardware and software, languages, and procedures.
