Next Wave Energy Monitoring (“Next Wave”) is an employee-owned renewable energy performance monitoring and data acquisition (“DAS”) provider designed by power quality engineers to deliver substantive energy vitals and system analytics to solar asset owners and stakeholders. Next Wave’s turnkey DAS extends mark-leading customer support and in-field network engineering from US-based teams to streamline system energization and DAS retrofit needs.

Next Wave’s cloud-based platform pulls data directly from the DAS which retrieves communications from all connected devices such as inverters, meters, weather stations, sensors, etc. and not via third party software/ API. This direct data communication provides secure data transfer, accurate alert classification and multi-device charting for effective troubleshooting.

With over 900 gigawatts of installed solar photovoltaic capacity globally and an increasing pipeline for the foreseeable future, effective performance monitoring is the key to properly managing this enormous energy capacity.

Job Scope: Director of Business DevelopmentFull-Time

The appointed candidate Executive will be a dynamic and strategic professional that will lead our efforts in developing, managing, and expanding relationships with large enterprises, portfolio asset owners, and industry networks. They will play a critical role in driving revenue growth through the various sales verticals, establishing long-term partnerships, and positioning Next Wave as a leader in the energy monitoring sector.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities:

● Sales Strategy Development: Create and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth, with a focus on expanding partnerships across different regions and market verticals.

● Sales Plan & Quota Setting: Develop and implement annual sales plans, setting ambitious but achievable sales targets and quotas for the sales team and distribution partners.

● Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities in both existing and emerging markets. Expand the company’s footprint across various regions by developing strong partnership networks.

● Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure that customer feedback informs product improvements and that market entry initiatives are successfully executed.

● Sales Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics to measure success, sales team effectiveness, and market performance. Use insights to adjust sales strategies and drive continuous improvement.

● Leadership & Team Development: Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with company goals and sales targets.

Travel:

Industry Engagement: Represent Next Wave Energy Monitoring at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings, building the company’s brand and reputation in the energy monitoring space as needed.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

● Proven experience (3+ years) in sales leadership, with a focus on product sales management, preferably in the renewable energy or hardware technology sectors.

● Strong track record of driving sales growth through various B2B sales channels.

● Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

● Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales strategy.

● Experience working in energy monitoring, hardware sales, or renewable energy sectors is highly desirable.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

● Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,500.00 - $165,000.00 per year
