EAG is starting the search for a Production Accounting Consultant, responsible for production accounting and regulatory reporting projects, to join our consulting team.

The Production Accountant is capable of reviewing and completing daily production monitoring, daily and monthly volumetric allocations and reporting, regulatory reporting, and internal reporting activities for assigned EAG clients. The person in this role is expected to demonstrate daily the appropriate analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below and generate quality results. Strong time management, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate to individuals at all levels of the organization, are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team. All members of the EAG team are expected to actively participate in our team environment, communicate with our customers in a professional and service-oriented manner and identify process improvement and optimization opportunities. As EAG continues to grow, members must be able to handle changing priorities, new challenges, and multi-tasking.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Production Accounting Consultant is responsible for ensuring quality outcomes for the following activities:

• Production Accounting Subject Matter Expertise:
  • Set-up, advise on, and maintain master data as requested for area of responsibility:
    • New well setup
      • Well Master
      • Meters
      • Tanks
      • Allocation Diagrams
      • Pumper Route Navigation
    • Regulatory Reporting Setup
  • Capture key operational data elements such as well rates and pressures, vessel pressures, chemical rates, etc.
  • Run Validation Reports to identify master data issues (e.g. missing or unlinked wells)
  • Analyze pumper entry results and escalate issues to appropriate personnel
  • Design and run Production Department Business Processes as needed for:
    • Daily Allocations:
      • Confirm Meter Calibrations
      • Ensure accuracy of gas analysis loads
      • Identify and escalate SCADA integration issues
      • Validate daily production results
      • Analyze, investigate and correct variance discrepancies
      • Ensure quality daily results of recorded volumes in the Production Management System.
    • Verify run ticket details and input 3rd party gathering statements
    • Run Monthly Allocations:
      • Analyze, investigate and correct variance discrepancies
      • Process prior period adjustments
      • Validate monthly allocation results and close gathering systems (to trigger interface to revenue)
      • Ensure quality monthly results of recorded volumes in the Production Management System
      • Communicate status of allocations to marketing and revenue departments
      • Assist revenue with monthly accrual calculations and variance analysis between monthly recorded sales and estimates
    • File Regulatory Reports for area(s) of responsibility
    • Compile and manage reporting for area of responsibility to support operations, revenue, and engineering requirements
    • Generate trending and analysis reports
    • Ensure internal controls are followed and manage internal and external audits
    • Prioritize issues identified with the Production Management System for resolution and collaborate effectively with the Application Analysts to resolve system issues
• Interact directly with client personnel and executives, representing your individual project and EAG on a daily basis
• Leverage existing methodologies to provide industry-recognized best practices to our clients
• Assist the EAG Program Management Office in the continuing development of our methodologies and toolkits
• Collaborate with client, vendor and EAG team members to identify and document desired functionality, business requirements, supporting processes and/or system procedures
• Facilitate project activities such as client meetings, process/design workshops, user acceptance test sessions, and weekly status updates
• Provide hands-on business and technical analyst activities while completing project deliverables
• Assist with the development and delivery of training materials and programs
• Provide assistance to other EAG teams as needed, fostering a spirit of teamwork across individual project initiatives
• Collaborate and effectively serve customers of daily production data
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, PowerBI and SharePoint
• Conduct business following the highest ethical standards
• Meet deadlines and work well under pressure

POSITION, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (Minimum Qualifications):

• This position may require travel (Monday to Thursday) to client projects. Applicants should be willing to travel up to 50% in North America.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 7 years of experience working in E&P Production Accounting desired
• Experience with E&P Field Data Capture, Production Allocation Systems and Reporting Tools required. Prodview, P2Merrick suite preferred
• Working knowledge of SQL is a plus

EAG offers a variety of flexible schedules and models which would be confirmed during the interview process.

The selected candidate will be based in Houston and is willing to work a hybrid, in-office schedule.
