Priority Waste maintains a diversified platform providing service to both municipal solid-waste, construction and demolition customers. Job Purpose

In your role as Payables Specialist, you will support the company’s Treasury Manager and Accounting Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Acts as liaison between the Company and its vendors to insure timely and accurate payment of invoices.
• Checks vendor invoices against purchase orders, receiving logs, packing slips; reviews audits, checks extensions, ensures application of discounts, etc. on all payments processed.
• Enters vendor invoices into accounting system ensuring accuracy of coding and and accounting period.
• Analyzes monthly expenses to ensure that all vendor charges have been entered.
• Scan accounts payable documentation, attach in accounting system and file as appropriate.
• Research vendor payment issues and identify appropriate resolutions.
• Complete monthly reconciliation of vendor statements.
• Enter data into various accounting systems including general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable systems.
• Assist in account reconciliation including identification of discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate profile includes:

• Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience in an accounting role or other relevant administrative support role.
• Prior experience processing payables using an ERP system is required.
• Experience using NetSuite is highly preferred.
• Must have excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize and correct errors.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
• Possesses a high level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent math and financial analysis skills.
• Experience with 10-key data entry
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain positive demeanor.

Location & Travel:

The Inside Sales Representative will work onsite at the company’s corporate office in Clinton Township, MI and requires no travel.
