Stantec’s Infrastructure Innovation practice is seeking an analyst to support our growing zero emissions and Smart(ER) Mobility project portfolio. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting multidisciplinary teams that include some combination of transportation/transit planners, GIS mapping professionals, fleet modelers, civil/electrical engineers, and urban designers to deliver innovative projects for both public and private entities. Expertise in at least one of these fields is required. The right candidate for this role will be presented with the opportunity to build a practice over time around their unique skillset and client relationships. This role will support a range of projects and tasks with a focus on the following topics, in order of priority:
- Electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure planning for local, regional and statewide government agencies.
- Safety focused advisory services, including supporting planning and implementation projects around Vision Zero and Safe Streets for All federally funded projects
- Transportation policy, regulatory, and strategic advisory.
- Lead strategic planning and support interdisciplinary public and private sector assignments for next generation transportation and smart city development.
- Federal grant application development for the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI), Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART), Low- or No-Emission (Low-No), and Clean School Bus programs.
- Transit, microtransit, and multi-modal planning.
- Intelligent transportation systems, connected and automated vehicle, and smart city technologies.
- Zero emission fleet transition studies for transit, municipal, and private sector clients.
The successful candidate will have a combination of the following skills and attributes:
- Detail-oriented mindset with knowledge of the technical and financial principles that support successful project delivery.
- Ability to act independently and proactively with minimal input on projects and business development activities.
- Strong and persuasive writing skills with ability to weave multiple, disparate pieces together into a cohesive narrative and distill technical concepts for a non-technical audience.
- Commitment to delivering high quality work, reviewing work products with a strong attention to detail, and proactively bringing issues and challenges to the attention of senior management and clients.
- Strong presentation skills for a wide range of audiences including industry conferences.
- Commitment to embracing diversity, actively listening, and addressing environmental and social justice on every project.
- Experience, or desire to learn, business development principles including opportunity intelligence gathering, pre-positioning for upcoming work, proposal development, internal strategic planning, and brand building activities (e.g., marketing brochures, blogs, conference presentations, etc.).
- Growth mindset with desire to build individual practice area over time based on unique background and skillset.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Expertise in EV infrastructure planning and/or zero emission fleet transition studies.
- Experience working with industry organizations and tracking federal, state, and local policies and regulations.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, geography, civil engineering, public policy, or related field.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading development of federal grant applications for CFI, SMART, Low-No, or Clean School Bus programs.
- Knowledge of transit, microtransit, and multimodal planning principles.
- Knowledge of intelligent transportation systems, connected and automated vehicle, and smart city technologies.
- Knowledge of travel demand modeling and traffic modeling/planning.
- Knowledge of transportation policy and regulatory principles.
- Experience using the ESRI suite and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Supervisory experience (either directly or on projects).
- PMP, AICP, GISP, or PE certification.
- Master’s or doctorate degree in urban planning, geography, civil engineering, public policy, or related field.

Salary Range(s):
- $43 - $62 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA and DC
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

- Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city’s paid sick leave law.
