Job Description

Convergint Technologies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Engineer to join our Security Sales team. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle, primarily focusing on security solutions.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

  • Solution Design: Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and design comprehensive security solutions tailored to their needs. This includes analyzing customer environments, conducting site surveys, and recommending appropriate security technologies.
  • Technical Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospective clients, effectively communicating the features and benefits of our solutions. This may involve creating customized presentations and solution proposals.
  • Proposal Development: Work closely with the Business Development Managers & Account Executives to develop detailed proposals, including system architecture diagrams, equipment lists, and pricing estimates. Ensure proposals align with customer requirements and Convergint's standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders, providing technical guidance and support throughout the sales process. Address customer inquiries and technical concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to ensure successful project implementation. Provide technical oversight during project execution, including system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Training and Support: Conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams on security products and solutions. Provide ongoing technical support and assistance post-sale as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong understanding of security technologies, including access control systems, video surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Proficiency in system design tools and software, such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD or Visio.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP) are a plus.

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
