Maintenance Millwright
Overview
Cement plant Millwrighting involves the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of stationary industrial machinery.
- Total Compensation Package: $51.59/h (45.25 CAD/h + pension benefits (RRSP+DB): 6.34 CAD/h)
- Eligible for Overtime at premiums of 1.5 and 2 times hourly rate.

Responsibilities
Millwrights are required to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Millwrights Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
- Millwrights operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
- Millwrights inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Millwrights Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
- Millwrights adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts. Millwrights operate machine tools such as drills and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
- Millwrights clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Millwrights assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
Relationship with Others
- Millwrights at the Bath plant will work together with other millwrights, electricians and production workers to accomplish assigned work tasks.
Specific Accountabilities:
Millwrights at the Bath must complete the following
- Participate in plant safety including performing risk assessments before each job
- Maintain good attendance
- Complete scheduled work on-time
- Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisors for work improvements

Qualifications
- All applicants must have their Industrial Mechanic Millwright certification from the college of trades or their interprovincial red seal certification (433A)
