Position Profile: Vice President - Sales

Hickory Holdings LLC/Sheds Direct

Company Overview:

Hickory Holdings LLC is a middle-market, private-equity owned company based in Charlotte, NC. The company specializes in manufacturing and retailing outdoor storage buildings, operating under the brand Sheds Direct (SDI).

SDI operates a network of builders, retailers and delivery logistics partners in the Mid-West, Northeast and Southeast with plans to grow and expand in new markets, regions and product categories, both organically and through targeted acquisitions.

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Sales (VP of Sales) will be a key member of the senior executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is responsible for leading and managing the entire sales organization of Hickory Holdings LLC / Sheds Direct. The VP of Sales will drive the company's sales strategy, ensure the achievement of sales goals, and contribute to the overall growth objectives of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's goals and market opportunities.
  • Lead sales forecasting, budgeting, and long-term sales planning.
  • Provide market analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making by the executive team.

Sales Operations and Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the sales department, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Develop and lead new business activities focusing on new dealer acquisitions and new corporate dealer locations
  • Manage and optimize the sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Monitor sales metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
  • Work closely with operations, logistics and after-sales service to optimize customer experience

Market Expansion and Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and execute plans to expand into new regions and product categories.
  • Drive the growth of the dealer network and retail partnerships.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
  • Develop strategies to enhance customer loyalty and retention.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and develop the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for sales staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in sales within manufacturing and retail industries.
  • Experience managing within a lead generation sales model. Commissioned sales rep and dealer reseller network experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with private equity environments and managing stakeholder relationships.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft teams, Excel, CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications

Location:

Based in Charlotte, NC. Preference for candidates to live in the Charlotte area but flexible based on experience.
