About the Senior Accounting Services Associate position

Whitlock & Company PC is a Certified Public Accounting firm with offices in Alcoa/Maryville and Pigeon Forge, TN. We are looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to assume responsibility for 10-20 client write-up projects. Duties may include processing a full payroll for a client, calculating and filing a monthly sales tax return, preparing monthly financials for a client, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, etc. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of closing journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Perform payroll processing, Quarterly and Annual payroll tax returns.
• Prepare monthly sales tax, gross receipt tax and lodging tax returns.
• Prepare monthly invoicing and maintain account receivable records.
• Process accounts payable and reconcile monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• General ledger and adjusting journal entries for multiple clients.
• Keep up with rules and law changes payroll and local and state taxes.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements.

Qualifications:

• Attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Word, and Excel
• Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks or Accounting CS
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with multiple clients and prioritize.
