Job Description

General Overview: This position will be responsible for sales of aggregates in designated market area. The Aggregates Business Development Manager will identify key opportunities in market area and grow market share through establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customer base. This position will also be responsible for maintaining strong intercompany relationships to communicate with plant operations to ensure material availability and inform them of specific requests or needs from customer base.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop pipeline of leads and opportunities to build and expand customer base through market research, networking, and cold calling.
  • Call on and develop relationships with aggregate buyers in market area.
  • Develop new customers and increase market share in aggregate material product space.
  • Collaborate with leadership and operations to achieve sales goals through gaining new accounts or contracts.
  • Effectively maintain sales data, conduct market research, and deliver quotes that promote business objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients and close sales agreements to meet company and individual sales goals.
  • Use CRM systems to ensure accurate sales reporting to leadership.
  • Promote the company’s products/services through addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
Other Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience in construction aggregate or materials industry with proven experience of meeting sales objectives.
  • Experience in developing strategic partnerships leading to sales opportunities and increasing sales performance through closing new accounts in market area.
  • Industry knowledge including but not limited to product pricing, aggregate products, aggregate uses, tonnage, and forecasts.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Must be computer proficient.
  • Proven communication and organizational skills to coordinate, communicate, and implement company goals.
  • Sensitive to confidential information.
  • Must work independently and as a member of team.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
  • Able to read, speak and write English.
  • Employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; climb up and down stairs.
  • Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; kneeling; pushing or pulling; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Minimal safety hazards; general office working conditions.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, (FRC) gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
