Luminator is seeking to fill our full-timeSenior Buyer role to join our growing and dynamic Program Management team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.

The successful Senior Buyer candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. The Senior Buyer is responsible for material and supply purchases, ensuring that the right items are purchased from the right suppliers, at the right time, at the right price. This role will also develop commodity strategies that will meet the needs of the company and our suppliers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The successful candidate will have the ability to challenge the organization effectively, resolve problems, and willing to provide a hands-on approach in finding solutions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.   • Research and identify potential suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and other factors.
  • Evaluate and analyze supplier proposals, quotes, and bids to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and cost savings.
  • Plan & schedule delivery of all productive components to support production schedules.
  • Follow up material shortages until Good Receipt is completed at the site.
  • Work to minimize inventory levels while ensuring enough stock to support production.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and requirements.
  • Maintain and update procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and supplier developments to make strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and inventory management, to ensure alignment and efficiency in procurement activities.
  • Implement and adhere to procurement policies, procedures, and compliance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Senior Buyer will be an experienced, operationally oriented professional who can successfully lead as a very hands-on Buyer to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.
This professional will possess:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Buyer role in an MRP environment required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Experience in buying, planning, and inventory management required.
  • Experience in operations and warehouse management preferred.
  • Experience with sheet metal parts, printed circuit boards, and technical aspects, preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

ADDITIONAL PRIORITIES:
The Senior Buyer will prioritize and broadly execute the following:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Syteline or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Ability to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing change along with having attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms.
  • Thorough understandng of engineering change processes, and related documentation as it pertains to procurement.
  • Proficiency with purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Experience with category management.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Driven, self-starter with a sense of urgency and customer focus.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities, and at times work under pressure.
  • Ability to accurately read, interpret, and apply management and corporate direction using general concepts and methodologies.
