Our flagship product, the dcbel Home Energy Station, is a small wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV’s battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.


The opportunity


We are looking for a Certification Engineer to work with the entire engineering department to manage the various certification programs of our products. The ideal candidate must display rigor, resourcefulness, as well as excellent organizational skills. If you meet the criteria below, we’d love to hear from you!


Main responsibilities


  • Identify required standards for products. Extract relevant clauses and tests that products need to meet and explain them to design engineers.
  • Plan the execution of tests, whether internally or externally. Acquire required equipment and explain to technicians how to execute the tests. Find external labs when in-house execution is not possible.
  • Work with certification agencies to certify products by documenting the design of products and test results.
  • Update certification reports as products evolve.
  • Develop relationship with certification agencies and external labs to quickly have access to required resources.

Key requirements


  • Bachelor degree in engineering.
  • 7 years of experience including at least 3 years experience in working in certification and testing.
  • Must be able to understand electrical, mechanical and firmware designs.

Bonus skills


  • Bilingual English and French written and spoken.

  • Ability to collaborate with partners from different cultures and geographical locations. Will need to work with labs from around the world.
  • Must be extremely organized to be able to manage multiples projects simultaneously and clearly explain progress and blocking issues.
  • Must have attention to detail to thoroughly understand different standards.
  • Be comfortable working in a high power lab.
