As a Sailboat Sales professional, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and selling sailboats to customers who have a passion for sailing. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining customer relationships, providing expert guidance, and facilitating the sales process to help customers find the sailboat of their dreams.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of sailboat models, features, and sailing equipment, staying updated on industry trends and advancements.
  • Customer Engagement: Greet and engage with customers in a welcoming and professional manner, actively listening to their sailing needs and preferences.
  • Consultation: Conduct thorough consultations with customers to assess their sailing experience, skill level, and specific requirements to recommend suitable sailboat options.
  • Product Demonstrations: Provide informative product demonstrations, showcasing sailboat features, handling characteristics, and the benefits of different models.
  • Sales Presentations: Create compelling and informative sales presentations, highlighting sailboat options that align with the customer's needs and preferences.
  • Pricing and Negotiation: Quote prices, negotiate terms, and guide customers through the sales process, ensuring a positive buying experience.
  • Customer Follow-Up: Maintain ongoing communication with customers, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and following up on potential sales opportunities.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor sailboat inventory levels, recommend restocking when necessary, and assist in maintaining boat showrooms and displays.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about competitors' sailboat offerings and market conditions to adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Sales Records: Keep accurate records of customer interactions, sales, and follow-up activities using customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Customer Events: Assist in organizing and participating in customer events, boat shows, and promotional activities to attract potential buyers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience in sales, particularly in the marine or sailboat industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of sailboats, sailing gear, and related products.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Effective negotiation and closing skills to secure sales.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for sailing and a passion for sharing the sailing experience with customers.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position with regular business hours, although flexibility may be required to accommodate customer appointments, boat shows, and special events, including weekends and evenings.
