About The Beacon Newspapers
Founded in 1989, The Beacon Newspapers is a family-owned business dedicated to providing well-written, useful information of interest to people 50 and over and their families.
The Beacon has three free monthly print editions in the Greater Washington (D.C.) area, the Greater Baltimore (Maryland) area, and Howard County (Maryland).
In addition to the monthly newspapers, the Beacon publishes annual print and online resource guides and produces free 50+Expo events.
The ideal B2B Sales Representative (Account Executive) candidate:
Must be hard-working, positive, assertive, detail-oriented, outgoing, and genuinely enjoy selling products. Business-to-business or advertising sales experience is recommended. Be self-motivated with a proven track record of success. Have strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
Specific duties may include:
- Work from home/the road
- Set appointments in-person/virtually, as needed
- Sell Beacon products/services
- Maintain prospect client list using CMS (Client Management System)
- Submit placement paperwork and artwork
- Attend weekly staff/sales meeting
Recommended qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma. At least one year of business-to-business, outside, or advertising sales experience. Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, ACT!, or other CMS, and Zoom.
