We currently have an opportunity for a Systems & Security Architect to join our team! The Systems & Security Architect is responsible for securing information and assets by determining network security requirements; planning, implementing, and testing network security systems; preparing network related security standards and procedures; analyzing system and network log patterns and trends; conducting security assessments and developing action plans to address vulnerabilities.
Additional responsibilities include providing day-to-day administration of SCU’s network and infrastructure systems to ensure reliable and efficient service support for critical enterprise applications, server hardware, firewalls, storage systems, operating systems and databases.
Specific Responsibilities
Evaluate business strategies and requirements, while remaining abreast of evolving security standards to provide network security guidance and direction to protect SCU
Plan and implement security systems by developing requirements for LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices
Manage remediation plans for security gaps; prepare preventive and reactive measures specify intrusion detection methodologies and coordinate response to security incidents.
Manage, support and ensure operating viability of LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network)
Maintain security devices and monitor alerts, acting to protect SCU equipment and data
Ensure software, hardware and network installs, re-installs, upgrades, changes, backups and relocations are completed efficiently and as required
Provide technical leadership during incident response
Fulfill service level agreements with respect to availability, system performance, capacity and security
Support enterprise applications with the support of vendors and internal stakeholders
Collaborate cross functionally to manage network security vulnerabilities or investigations
Prepare governance, risk and compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Triage requests and work with stakeholders to determine priorities of work in the queue
Provide business units with operational and threat intelligence
Monitor information security issues to ensure the internal network security controls are appropriate
Monitor and test systems and respond to alerts or failures within service standards
Perform installations, upgrades and maintenance in alignment with COBIT standards
Engage with key stakeholders to stay abreast of organizational needs and competitive position in the financial services market
Qualifications
- 7 to 9 years of related experience
- Post secondary diploma or degree in Network Administration, Computer Science or a related field
- Certification in Information System Security (CISSP) is required
- Detailed knowledge of information security standards (including ISO 17799/27002, etc.), rules and regulations related to information security
- Experience with Open Source Operating Systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu), SAN and Tape Backup Management Software (Commvault), and network monitoring and logging Tools (NAGIOS, ElasticSearch)
- Certification in Critical Infrastructure Assurance (CIAG), Wireless Security (CWSP), Cisco hardware and operating systems (CCNA), Microsoft desktop and server operating systems would be considered an asset
