Job Description
The Strategic Account Executive will be joining the direct sales team to help obtain new clients for our AI-era brand measurement platform. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are determined to succeed and are driven by team wins and individual commissions. Our solution is targeted at senior level marketers (VP Brand, VP Marketing, CMO) in emerging enterprises and large enterprises.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the competitive landscape, product value and customer needs so you can effectively position BlueOcean.
- Build relationships with key clients and decision makers via outbound efforts (phone, email, and social media).
- Maintain a robust new business pipeline through regular prospect follow-up and nurturing.
- Close new business deals with businesses that have $1+ billion revenue or more
- Be a master of our product and be able to perform product demos and speak clearly to use cases of our product.
- Conduct pricing negotiations.
- Manage contract to signature process.
- Exceed annual quota of $1.5MM and quarterly revenue targets while maintaining accurate and updated pipeline and forecasts.
- Coordinate post-sale launch call between customer and the BlueOcean implementation and Customer Success Team. A good handoff requires that this candidate has diligently documented notes through the sales process, including information on the customers key needs, goals, focus areas and what-outs so the CS team is set up for success.
- Document all activities in Salesforce.
- Work closely with other Sales and Marketing management personnel to facilitate frequent and open communications regarding team performance and explore ways to improve all related processes.
- Provide input and feedback regarding competitive activity and future product direction.
- Develop and maintain a deep level of understanding of the problems our clients face with brand measurement and stay up to date on best in class approaches
- Work effectively in a team environment

- This role is a remote first position out of the San Francisco Bay area, or Greater Seattle area, but eventually you will be required to work 3 days per week from an office in SanFrancisco/Oakland area or Seattle/Bellevue area as our site strategy unfolds. Your presence will be a major influence in our company’s success and our culture.

- Dive deep into your assigned vertical, understanding industry trends so you are able to proactively advise your customers when shifts occur.
- Establish trusted advisor relationships with all of your customers. You must be able to build rapport and influence, not just move a customer through a funnel.
- Leverage your existing understanding of brand and partner internally with our strategists to deliver informed customer recommendations.
- Be deeply curious about BlueOcean products and services.
- Advocate internally for your customer with our product development team.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to address and resolve customer needs, involving appropriate escalation points as needed.
Requirements*:
- 5+ years of experience in a closing role, with 5-10+ years experience.
- Experience calling on Director to C-level contacts in the commercial mid market and enterprise space.
- Passion, integrity, empathy, creativity, humility, and honesty.
- Proven record of consistently meeting and exceeding quota in a competitive sales environment.
- Advanced knowledge of sales coaching, best practices, and sales methodology.
- Understanding of core marketing KPIs.
- Prior experience using Salesforce, Zoom, Slack, ZoomInfo as part of your sales technology stack.
Bonus Points For
- A deep knowledge and passion for growth marketing and brand marketing. You likely worked at an agency or marketing-led consulting company and were responsible for revenue.
- B2B SaaS sales experiences pitching to Marketing Executives.
- Selling Artificial Intelligence or Large Language Model supported SaaS offering(s) in conjunction to a consultative sales process.
- Prior experience using Chorus, ChurnZero, HubSpot or other sales technologies.
- A background in Brand Marketing software or marketing software sales is strongly preferred.

Benefits
- The annual base salary range for this position is between $115,000-$150,000. This information reflects a base salary range that BlueOcean reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location.
- Average On Target Earnings (OTE) for this position is between $250,000 to $300,000.

Interview Process
Our interview process for this role is generally conducted in five (5) phases all video calls
1. Interview with Talent Acquisition (30 minutes)
2. Interview with the COO (30-60 minutes)
3. Interview with the Head of Strategy (30 minutes)
4. Interview with the CEO (30 minutes)
5. Final discussion with COO (30 minutes)
