GEI is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager to join a talented, highly motivated team supporting our Knoxville, TN office, and growing regional water resources engineering practice. The successful candidate will immediately support regional water resources projects which include directing and providing hydrology and hydraulics studies and modeling floodplain mapping, watershed studies, storm drainage design, flood control, dams, levees, and stormwater management. The candidate will also work with our local Knoxville and regional team to preposition for existing and new client opportunities and build brand awareness.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Work with and manage project teams in developing and executing technical approaches to problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare proposals and statement of qualification packages, and project technical reports/deliverables.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams and nationwide company offices and client/project locations to meet project quality, budget and schedule goals.
- Manages project’s technical and financial performance in the areas of growth, operations, and administration to ensure project achieves company goals.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities that instill confidence from clients, subconsultants/vendors, and employees.
- Understand client needs and support project principals to build and maintain trusted client relationships.
- Technical leadership in hydrology and hydraulics, including FEMA- floodplain mapping, watershed studies and storm drainage design and production.
- Technical leadership in flood control, dams, levees, and their appurtenant structures.
- Technical leadership in stormwater management in collaboration with our overall Civil Practice.
- Provide input and develop written technical reports for delivery to clients on schedule, perform quality control review, and maintain deliverables of high quality to meet internal and client requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering required. Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources specialty preferred.
- TN PE certification.
- 10+ years progressive experience in Civil Engineering with extensive technical background in field of expertise.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to build relationships and cross-sell services to existing clients.
- Willingness to build brand awareness by attending conferences prioritizing around dams, floodplains, stormwater, and asset management.
- Experience working with local, State and Federal clients.
- 8+ years in a project management role and client relationship management role.
