Sunken Gardens Supervisor

This is responsible work in coordinating, supervising, and participating in the daily operation and maintenance of Sunken Gardens. Work includes planning, assigning, scheduling and supervising the activities of all personnel involved in Sunken Gardens daily operations and related activities; serving as event manager for all scheduled events including fielding booking inquiries and working with clients to ascertain event needs and billing; overseeing gift shop merchandise purchasing and inventory; overseeing and preparing ongoing reports for Sunken Gardens activity records including accounting records of all revenue operations; and assists in promoting and marketing interest in Sunken Gardens. An employee in this class is expected to exercise independent professional judgment in solving problems through the application of a thorough knowledge of the City's policies and practices.

Salary: $61,484 - $99,115

Minimum Qualifications.Applicants must:

• Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.

• Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.

• Have considerable experience and knowledge of event services, booking, concessions, and public safety.

• Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with event promoters and producers, employees, public officials, community leaders, and the general public.

• Have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

• Have considerable experience training and supervising personnel staff.

• Have the ability to enforce rules and regulations with tact, firmness and impartiality.

• Have the ability to work a flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Desirable Qualifications.Preferred applicants:

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations, with one year experience.

• Have basic knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of public relations work and marketing of events.
