Wellington Brewery is one of Canada's original craft breweries. Based in Guelph, Ontario, we craft our award-winning beers with a focus on quality, sustainability, and creativity. We’re seeking a motivated and energetic Summer Sales Representative with a passion for craft beerto join our team. Their primary objective is to grow sales in their territory through direct sales initiatives with our retail customers, manage vital relationships, and represent Wellington’s brands in the field. In addition, you'll also support the planning and executing of brand awareness activations such as festivals, field events, and tastings in the territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve territory sales volume, revenue, and growth targets
  • Establish business relationships within LCBO, Beer Store, Grocery, Agency Stores; provide recommendations regarding Wellington products, promotions, sales opportunities, and account maintenance
  • Work with the Retail Sales Manager to set targets, discuss product performance, and adjust targets
  • Review sales data and apply knowledge of the territory to identify opportunities and execute sales plans
  • Assist with the execution of various Marketing programs and provide feedback with regard to the design, implementation, and effectiveness of programs
  • Maintain merchandising standards and work to influence space allotments and product visibility
  • Planning and execution of brand awareness activations such as festivals, field events, and tastings in the territory.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer information and sales data in customer relationship management software (CRM)
  • Participate in team meetings and provide the Sales management team with detailed local market intelligence as required
  • Remain apprised of industry trends and changes to the competitive environment
  • Proudly represent the Wellington Brewery brand and ensure our vision and values are maintained in the marketplace
  • Implement and fully utilize marketing initiatives to increase consumer loyalty and beer sales for territory

Qualifications:

  • Must have a passion for craft beer and the craft beer industry
  • Beverage alcohol industry experience would be considered a strong asset
  • Previous sales experience in a consumer-packaged goods environment is a strong asset
  • Desire to learn, grow, and take on increased responsibility
  • Motivated self-starter that prioritizes being a team player, setting priorities and achieving results
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Driver's License with clean abstract and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Willingness to frequently travel within the territory and work evenings and weekends when required
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lb cases and various sized boxes periodically
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, walk, reach, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Must have Smart Serve certification or will obtain prior to commencement of employment

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Alcohol Industry: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
